Minister questions plans to separate conjoined twins
(Part A – Prime – Page A1 & A6)
1) What are some of the problems involved in separating a conjoined twin?
- Such problems are brain damage , chest infection , problems with spinal cord and excess blood lost.
2) If you were a part of a conjoined twin, would you rather stay together with your twin for the rest of your life or would you risk both your lives to go for an operation? Why?
- I would risk our lives for an operation. It is better for the both of us to be freed rather then to be glued together for the rest of our lives. There might be risks of us suffering from illness or even death , but if we were to be glued , life would'nt make any difference from death. Life would be as gloomy as times goes by because we cannot do things that we like and we exert alot of pressure and trouble onto our loved ones. They have to take good care of us as we can't possibly move about on our own. As long as we are still glued together, they will not be able to have a peace of mind. Thus , undergoing operation is the prime solution to end this trouble and misery within ourselves and others.

Businesses are still big on doing good
(Part B – Home Section – Page B6 – The Home Market)
1)What are big companies doing in order to be more socially responsible?
-Some of them are introducing environmental efforts, stepping up on nutrition and well-being, they are also helping young children attain their fullest potiental in learning.
2) How important it is to be socially responsible? And do you think it is still possible to make a social impact during the recession?
- Being socially responsible helps others who are in need and are less fortunate than us. Aiding the less fortunate can brighten their life, even if it means a penny. In my personal opinion, socially responsible help many needy and less fortunate to be able to experience what is like to be among , at least in the middle class in the scoiety. Yes, of course. Nothing is inpossible. It is the ''no'' answer that is pulling us back from helping . Donating money is a wise choice to help the needy. It need not be a fifty dollar bill, a dollar will also help. If each and every of us donates a dollar, charity organisations will definetly be able to raise sufficient money to provide better quality of life and care for them.

Save the planet? This is a job for school kids…
(Part B – Home Section – Page B3)
1) What are some of the things that schools in Singapore are doing in order to take care of the environment?
- Some schools are including environmental educations during their geography, science and social studies lessons. Such examples are topics on global warming and ozone depletion for geography lessons and knowledege of track and reduce of electricity bills for social studies.
2) Do you think one person's effort in reducing, reusing and recycling will make a difference in saving the environment? What steps have you taken in the effort to save the earth?
- Yes, it will make a difference. Reducing helps to cut short of the majority of production of non-biodegradable materials which are harmful to earth if burned. Reusing disposal needs helps companies to save cost, energy and resources.Thus, there will be lesser demands for these products and therefore, lesser resources are needed to manafacture these products. Recycling products helps to prevent wastage of useful materials , reduce energy usage and etc. Recycling also helps to prevent lesser waste from being dumped into landfills which might cause water pollution and burning waste at the incinerator might cause air pollution. I have thrown newspapers inside a recycling bin in school , reusing plastic bottles , utensils , reducing electricity wastage and water wastage.
